The Georgetown TX real estate market is alive and well !  Georgetown is the county seat of the fastest growing county in the US, according to Forbes.   It has become evident that lots of folks have heard about us, as the buyers are having considerably fewer choices than in years past.

Georgetown Real Estate Through the Years

Georgetown is typically divided into 2 distinct areas when it comes to real estate, the east side (GTE) and the west (GTW).   The east side is made up of the historical Old Town district, with several homes from the 19th century that have been updated and beautifully brought back to their original glory.  There are several neighborhoods with mid-priced homes for first time home buyers, such as University Park (across from Southwestern, the oldest university in Texas!) and Katy Crossing.  Both single and two-story homes can be found in these family-friendly neighborhoods, and both are located within minutes to Georgetown’s prize winning downtown shops and restaurants.

Popular neighborhoods in GTW include Georgetown Village, with its exemplary Village Elementary school located inside the subdivision and within walking distance from many of the homes.  Berry Creek consists of over 1000 homes in a country club community that offers a private golf course, club house, swimming and tennis.  Mature landscaping and family friendly activities each month make this a favorite area for many buyers!

For families looking for a little more space between them and the neighbors, there are some excellent subdivisions such as Woodland ParkGabriel’s Overlook, and Walnut Springs Estates that are built on 1+ acre lots.    Last but certainly not least, Sun City is also located on the west side of Georgetown.  This age-restricted retirement community is huge – over 6000 homes !  There is no shortage of activities here with 3 golf courses, amenity centers, and clubs and activities that go on year round.

The Georgetown TX Real Estate market is heating up for 2014, and it looks like it will be another record year.
